Yes, I'm really running for President. My own way. I started an actblue account (link to be found elsewhere on this blog,) but am reluctant to ask for more donations, for several reasons:
1) I absolutely abhor the fact that we spend so much money on politics.
2) The FEC regulations are so restrictive, fairly soon I will need a campaign finance manager.
I just want to help people, and right now, this is the plan.
So, instead of donating to a political campaign, please donate to a non-profit org that is doing good work in your community, or a nearby underserved community.
I.e., community land/ housing trust, a local community center, an organization that assists people trying to obtain domestic peace, policeman's retirement fund, firefighters fund, animal rescue organization, music education scholarships, senior services, etc.
Maybe donate a few dollars to each.
Like drops in a bucket, it all adds up.
If you would like to help spread the word about the fact that I am running for President, donate it in the name of "Mari Tamburo for POTUS"
Or not.
It is your choice, just like how you choose to view the day. Whatever you do, just be the best you that you can be.
Love and respect yourself by loving and respecting everyone else, and together, we can make the world a better place.
This is not pie in the sky thinking.
This is putting power back where it belongs: to each of US.
