Saturday, 4/20/2019, Music and Campaign Kickoff in San Francisco

Hey Everybody,

This Saturday, 4/20/2019, will be our first official campaign announcement in front of more than one or two actual living, breathing, humans, the announcement being that I have thrown my hat into the ring, seeking the Democratic nomination for President of the United States.

As you may or may not know, I recently started mentioning my campaign on this blog and  a few other places on social media.

Well, I received the first donation check from Act Blue this past week, and it is starting to get real.

Thank you for your patience as we navigate this new territory together.

Everyone else just mentions that it will take money. This, I know. As for me or anyone else being a viable candidate at this point, that is the purpose of a primary: to select a candidate. So, thank you to everyone who has donated thus far, even if you are still undecided.

Our current campaigm goal is to get to the debates. That will take 65,000 individual donors, and/or a significant show in the polls. As we know, the polls are not always a good indicator, so please send at least $1.

As previously stated, one person cannot fix all the challenges we are currently facing, but "one person can make a difference, and everyone should try." The important thing is to realize that we need a strong turnout in 2020. That is the only way we can give the reins of this runaway horse back to the people.

On the musical side of things, in addition to my singing on the 20th, the lineup will be:

Mari Mack on vocals and campaign announcement
Pat Duffey on guitar
Arne Frager on bass
Doug Rowan on saxophone
Roy Blumenfeld on drums
Craig Caffall on guitar and vocals

Richard Wood is currently unavailable to do the gig, but we do have a couple of calls out to our favorite B3 players, so I may update the lineup on Thursday.

Hope to see you!
The sun rises every day. So shall we.

Ox,
Mari

p.s. Do you remember when, after we released "Mari Mack : Can't Go Back" in July of 2010, after I had been working on the songs over the span of, say, thirty years, then got pulled into that aforementioned bureaucratic sidewalk mess for the better part of two years?

Well, this popped into my newsfeed, and it just about made my week:
