Monday Morning Musings

We made it to the Top 5 in our group int he Global Citizen Fundraiser/Contest to play Central Park this fall - so thanks if you are voting and/or donating.

As I already shared to my Bandcamp Community page (so forgive me if you already know this) your encouragemt has inspired me to get back "into the box" and finish the recording of a song that actually won a songwriting contest a while back! We will release it on Bandcamp first - so, if you are interested, please do head on over to  our bandcamp community page and give a follow over there.

Doing my best to focus so we can release another album, this time with more original tunes. I'm feeling as if I have more to say that can only be expressed though music, but it's hard to concentrate on thriving when one's mind is preoccupied with surviving. Here's to determination and perseverance.

We also have a "Mari Mack and Liivn' Like Kings" group on Facebook, if that is your preferred platform.

I'm finding the Substack platform a bit crowded and not so visually user friendly, but am determined to figure it out soon...

Happy Summer Solstice!

Happy Summer Solstice! The word "solstice" comes from the Latin words "sol" for sun and "stitium" which can mean "pause" or "stop." The solstice is the end of the sun's annual march higher in the sky, when it makes its longest, highest arc. The sun then starts retreating; days will get a little shorter every day until late December.

Thanks again to everyone who is voting and or donating to Global Citizen to give us an opportunity to play Central Park! I really appreciate your support.

Couple Things...

Bear with me as I align all my social media. I'll get to the heading of my email newsletter by end of next week.

Juneteenth - it's a celebration and a reminder of how much work we need to do as a society until everyone has freedom to just be who they are and want to be. Some folks want to keep some of us subjugated. Hope I spelled/used that correctly.

Second Saturday Saloon Recap | Global Citizen Festival Contest Fundraiser

First things first: 

Thanks to everyone who joined us this past Saturday at the world famous Saloon in San Francisco! 

It was fun walking around a bit the old 'hood before the gig, taking in the sights, sounds and flavors of the North Beach Festival!

The band was kickin' and the audience was appreciative, so it was a good day for us. 

I demonstrated my love for our democracy by adding a "no" between "Like" and "Kings" on our sign, and with a few stripes of black photo tape over my shirt, made it personal. 

Hey, we do what we can. 

We will be back on the Second Saturday in July, with Roy Blumenfeld on the drum throne.
